During the first week of the transformation I met one of the strategic PM’s in HR. She was interested in how HR could use Kanban to manage their work more efficiently. I spent a couple of hours with her and after that she evolved their Kanban board and also included the Learning and Performance and Change Management departments which fell under the same umbrella.
This board was similar to a portfolio board. They had major projects and initiatives and used it for co-ordinating work. They didn’t track any throughput but instead had standups twice a week in front of it to co-ordinate all their cross department initiatives.
